About:
Rutherford is centrally located 8 miles west of New York City. We are 12 miles from Newark International Airport, 2 miles from the NJ Turnpike and 4 miles from the Garden State Parkway. Transportation Conveniently located on the New Jersey Transit Bergen line, NJT's Secaucus Transfer Station links the Bergen County train lines with the Amtrak east coast Boston-Washington line. This provides Rutherford commuters with direct train access to mid-town Manhattan. This improvement has been projected to double Rutherford's train station traffic and cut 8 to 15 minutes off the commute to New York City, each way! There will be increased frequency of rail service and reverse commute trains. In other towns where New Jersey Transit made similar improvements, property values have rapidly increased.
