Boulevard School Facilities:
Boulevard Elementary School is part of the Kokomo-Center Township Consolidated School Corporation. We are located in Howard County at the southwestern edge of the city of Kokomo, Indiana.
With 48,770 square feet, Boulevard School opened in November, 1965. Grades 1-4 were contained in twelve traditional classrooms and a multi-purpose room served as cafeteria, gymnasium, and stage area. In the late 1960's, three large learning areas designed to facilitate the open concept educational plan were added for grades 4, 5, and 6. In 1968, the 6th grade was moved to the middle school level, and public kindergarten was added. During a system-wide reorganization in 1984, our 5th grades were moved to the middle school level. The large learning areas were subdivided into ten individual classrooms in 1988. Most recently, in 1998, the 21st Century Plan B reinstated the 5th grade. This plan also moved the KEY (gifted) program from Boulevard to Sycamore Elementary School. A new library was added by enclosing an existing courtyard in the spring of 1999. Boulevard School currently serves as a K-5 facility.
We have a computer lab, computers in each classroom, Internet access, TV/VCR's, digital cameras, camcorder, and a telephone with intercom and voice mail in each classroom. Exterior facilities include two playground areas, a blacktop surfaced area with basketball courts, and several grassy playing fields on the school grounds.
