The Breezewood Church of God of Prophecy was organized November 16, 1952 with 11 members. Rev. Albert B. Horne was the 1st pastor. This event was the result of Sunday School and prayer meetings in homes and tent revivals. A lot was purchased on Wilkes Road off Highway 301 South in Fayetteville, North Carolina and a tent was erected. Worship services were held in the tent until a building could be constructed. Thus the church began to grow. Some of the people who were instrumental in the growth of the church at the Wilkes Road location are still active in the church today.
