Mission:
Ever seeking, serving, and growing as the family of God showing unconditional love and acceptance.
History:
Originally the site of the Ocean Wave Saloon, which employed a young orphan named Henry DeLong. After a revival meeting in Macomb, Illinois, Henry was "gloriously converted" instead of breaking up the revival meeting as planned.
Henry returned to Council Bluffs after the Civil War and used money saved from ironing other soldiers shirts to purchase the site of the Ocean Wave Saloon after it had burned to the ground. He donated this land to the Methodist Church to "be used for church purposes forever".
The church on the corner of Broadway and South First Street continues to invite all to let Jesus into their lives and to allow God to change their lives as dramatically as He did Henry DeLong's.
