In 2010, over a potluck dinner and a couple beers, several members of the Brookwood and Carolina Place Neighborhoods decided to throw and Oktoberfest Celebration. Dan knew Ken from Harbour Towne Fest Band. Matt had connections. Marshall had the location. And "Eins, Zwei, Drei, G'suffa!", we had an Oktoberfest.

Each year the event has grown. We have developed an relationship with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina; which has provided volunteers and other help for our growing shin-dig.

In 2013, our party raised the equivalent of 10,000 meals for our nieghbors in need.
