Broomfield Youth Football Association:
The Broomfield Youth Football Association (BYFA) was started in 1962. Many of our coaches competed in the program themselves as children and have children in BYFA today. Some of the original
founding members, like Hank Stovall, are watching their grandchildren participate today.
BYFA philosophy focuses primarily on three basic principles; football fundamentals. physical conditioning, and sportsmanship.
BYFA believes children learn through participation and all players must participate in games. BYFA also places a great emphasis on sportsmanship. All players, parents, and coaches sign a code of conduct.
The program is only successful due to the collaborative efforts of a large group of individuals and organizations. Our sponsors and donors provide much needed funding to buy equipment and hold down registration costs. Businesses routinely provide supplies and materials as needed. The city provides areas throughout Broomfield to conduct practices and games. The school system provides support through use of game fields. And last but not least, volunteers, both board members and others, give a large amount of their free time to make it all come together. BYFA is truly a community effort.
