Burleson Church of Christ began in 1933 in a small building located at 307 Wilson Street. At this time, there were only about 15 members.

In 1938, the congregation moved to rented quarters in the building that formerly housed the Post Office. The congregation met in this building for about a year and then moved to a small building on Commerce Street, which was, at one time, a cafe. In June of 1940, the congregation constructed a 30 by 40 foot wooden building, to which they added a baptistery and five classrooms in 1948. Later, two restrooms were added to the rear of the auditorium. By 1950, the average Sunday attendance ranged between 35 and 40.

The Lowell Davis family came to the church in 1953 as the first full-time minister and occupied the first minister's home shortly after its completion in that same year. In 1954, the attendance was about 75, and a third addition, consisting of three classrooms, was constructed.

In 1955, the congregation began to plan for a larger facility. The land was purchased just across the street from their existing building. Construction began on this new building in 1960. It was completed in three months and had a seating capacity of 365. The average worship attendance at that time was 150. In 1964, the congregation purchased a second minister's home, and the first minister's home was used for the custodian. In the year 1965, the average Bible school attendance was approximately 240, and the worship attendance was approximately 300. Plans were being made for the construction of a larger facility, which would meet the future needs of the congregation.

This new facility, constructed in 1969, had a seating capacity of 1000. Provision was also made for a balcony, which could be made to seat an additional 500. By 1970, the attendance in Bible school was averaging 320 with about 400 in worship service. An annex, now called Building A, was built in 1973, which provided an additional nine classrooms and one large fellowship room. The building was built two stories high at the time but only the first floor was completed. In 1976, the upper floor was finished, which provided seven more classrooms and one large room. In 1978, a two story multipurpose building, now called building C, was completed. This building was furnished with movable walls, which allowed for about fifteen classrooms. A kitchen was also built into this building so that the bottom floor could be cleared out to make a large fellowship room.

Today, our church has grown to over 900 members and we have plans currently in the works for future growth.
