After Jesus rose from the dead, the book of Acts tells us that he continued teaching about the Kingdom of God much as he had before his death. The disciples began to wonder whether he would "at last restore the Kingdom to Israel." (Acts 1.6) Jesus, always ready to confound expectations about him, replied that "... You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (1.8) In other words, the message of the Gospel is not only meant for one group or nationality, but for all people, everywhere.
This statement has profound implications for the mission of God's Church, the members of his Kingdom. It means that we have a responsibility to spread the Good News to every corner of the globe, even as we reach out to our own communities. For this reason, Calvary Baptist Church supports missionaries around the world, as well as iin our own backyard. We recognize that God's Kingdom has no borders, and no restrictions on who can come. We invite all people to join God's family through faith in Christ, who overcame our sin by his blood.
