Candia Fire-Rescue provides many emergency services to the community, including firefighting, provision of first-response emergency medical services, hazardous materials mediation, search and rescue, and vehicle extrication. Nearly 80% of the members are certified firefighters in the State of New Hampshire and approximately that many are also licensed Emergency Medical Service (EMS) providers. Members have various levels of Nationally-Registered EMS training, ranging from First Responder through Paramedic. Other members fill crucial support roles within the department, either on water supply companies, performing administrative duties, or dispatching. Candia Fire-Rescue is also a member of the Interstate Emergency Unit, an affiliation that allows nearly limitless mutual aid resources to be deployed to and from the Town of Candia. Hazardous Materials incident support and technical expertise is provided by the Southeastern New Hampshire Regional Hazmat Team.
