The Farm

The Pugh Family owns seventeen acres along Cane Creek at the end of the road. The farm has almost 4 acres in cultivated fields of vegetables and flowers, plus an orchard of fruit trees and berries, pastures for sheep and over 200 shitake mushroom logs.

The center of farm activity is where the barn, the potting shed and the farm store nestle into the hillside. Harvested produce is brought to the barn for cleaning, packing and storing, and the barn is also where you will find staff and volunteers sharing a communal lunch, or children participating in our Farm Camp. In close proximity is the greenhouse, where multitudes of plants begin their life on the farm, and hoophouses for season extension. Fourteen herb beds and a cut flower garden behind the potting shed provide shareholders with opportunities for taking home a fresh flower bouquet and herbs to enhance their share. On CSA pick-up day, Becky and others greet customers at the farm store with baskets of the week’s harvest.
