Summer Vegetable CSA share $550.00 for 19 weeks, June 22-October 26, 2011 The vegetable share will include the delicious and nutritious bounty of summer as it ripens. You will receive a weekly bag of fresh produce that will vary with seasonal availability of vegetables including many heirloom varieties. Some of the vegetables we will be growing include zucchini, squash, tomatoes, sweet & hot peppers, cucumbers, onions, garlic, eggplant, green onions, radish, green beans, potatoes, sweet potatoes, cabbage, broccoli, beets, turnips, as well as some greens, and fall squash. Being a shareholder is a powerful way to connect to your local food source and eat healthy fresh wholesome & nutritious food seasonally.
Fruit CSA $100.00 only available with the purchase of a summer vegetable CSA. Fruit will be available when in season. We have blueberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, peaches, apples, and some grapes. Fruit is available depending on the spring freezes and the weather through out the growing season. Fruit is not available each week. Egg CSA share $84.50 for 26 weeks May -October 2011 This consists of 1 dozen eggs weekly May through October.
Meat (Chicken & Turkey) CSA 26 weeks May-October 2011 Antibiotic & Hormone Free You will receive one package of meat each market consisting of the following meats in rotation, a whole chicken, or a 1lb. pkg. of chicken patties, or a pkg. of either chicken or turkey sausage links (brats), or a 1 lb. pkg. of ground chicken or turkey or turkey sausage, or a pkg. of wings, or a whole cut up chicken. There would be 26 packages of meat one each market for 26 markets.
How Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Works Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a food subscription service where you pay the farmer before the season begins for a share in the upcoming harvest. As a CSA member you share in the risk and the bounty of the season.
In return, from mid-June through mid-October, you are provided with a weekly variety of high-quality, locally grown, seasonally fresh food at an affordable price. You know where your food comes from, you know who grows it.
We are a small produce farm located in Marion, Ohio. We specialize in 25 varieties of tomatoes including heirloom, 26 varieties of peppers hot & sweet, squash, eggplant, onions, potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, and many other types of vegetables. In other words we raise everything but sweet corn. We are GAP certified acronym for Good Agricultural Practices. We also carry Cathy's Tasty Treats herb dips, rubs & seasonings, herb dressing mixes, jams & jellies, soup mixes, gourmet dog & cat treats, crock pot cake mixes, cappuccinos, teas, cocoa & mulling spices, as well as Cathy's flavorful gift baskets.
Our farm also raises free range antibiotic & hormone free, all natural chickens & turkeys.
