The CASA of the Plains program is a service to children involved in abuse and neglect court actions. Citizen volunteers are screened, trained and appointed by a judge to visit, listen to and assess the status of children in foster homes, relative homes or their parents' home and report back to the court their progress, current status and make recommendations for their future. The Sterling program is continually seeking dedicated volunteers to work with these children or volunteers to sit on the Community Development Committee, which serves to promote and educate citizens on the CASA program and work toward sustaining the program in Logan county and the 13th Judicial District.
