Welcome to Catnip Farm! Here are some of our native heirloom peach trees in bloom. These are the trees we grow from seed. Despite the severe winter of '07-'08 and months of flooding that followed, we had a great peach crop that fall. This past season we enjoyed really nice weather, grew and harvested lots of wonderful heirloom seeds and our biggest, BEST catnip crop ever =^..^= !

CATNIP FARM is a 14+ acre organic farmstead in western Iowa County, owned by Rich and Ericka since the fall of '96. We specialize in growing the best Catnip in the world, "Mr. Nipster" brand ~ Organic Catnip for Real Cool Cats! ~ and beautiful, productive, RARE native heirloom Iowa White ~ Indian Freestone Peach trees, peaches & seeds, and we provide our customers with organically grown vegetables, culinary & medicinal herbs, wheat, oat, barley and rye grain "kitty greens" pet + cat grass seed kits, cut flowers, fruit, bedding plants, honey, fresh & dried catnip, handmade kitty toys and fine crafts (Wildgirl ceramics, jewelry, mosaics & ornaments).

Our members pre-purchase Catnip Farm CSA coupons ($3. ea., initial minimum purchase is 4 coupons, no expiration date, 1/2 coupon = $1.50 value) and may order fresh eggs, organic produce and other farm products by e-mail & pick them up at a convenient location once a week. There is no minimum weekly or monthly order. What sets our fresh eggs apart from others (besides their great flavor & pretty colors) is that we never butcher our hens - they live out their natural lifespans right here in comfort & safety whether they produce or not. Most eggs (conventional, pasture-raised & even certified organic) come from farms where the less productive hens & extra roosters are butchered regularly. That is not the case at Catnip Farm. We love our feathered friends!
