     Our mission is to provide children with a developmentally appropriate pre-school experience in a safe and nurturing environment.

     Our goal is to foster the social and emotional growth of each child, preparing him or her o be ready to learn.

About Us

     C.D.E. was founded in 1947 by a group of parents who felt the need for their children to share in the pre-school experience. Over the years, our school has grown and changed to meet the needs of its students and their families.

     Our large classroom is center-based and offers children activities in science, math, and language arts. The promotion of social an emotional growth and opportunities for small and large motor development are integrated into the classroom setting.

      As a member of a parent cooperative, you have a direct voice in your child’s nursery school experience. Our qualified staff prepares the curriculum and may request parental assistance in further executing that program. For example, a parent who has a hobby that relates to a monthly theme may be asked to visit and interact with the children.

      As a member of C.D.E., family responsibilities include providing a healthy snack for your child’s class two to three times per year, attending an occasional evening meeting, fundraising to support our non-profit school, and lending a hand at our “special events” with the children.
