Children's Home Society has been providing services to children and their families since 1902. The Western Division, CHS' first division was established in 1920, and serves Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties. The CHS YouthWorks Mentoring program is a one-to-one community based mentoring program for youth ages 14-21 that are either at risk of dropping out of school or already are out of school. YouthWorks aims to assist youth in facilitating the completion of education and the transition into employment. Each youth is matched with a mentor who can provide guidance and support to help each child develop to their fullest potential.
The Mentors will need to:
> Be 21 years of age or older
> Complete an application, interview, drug screening and background screening
> Attend an orientation session
We ask that you commit to one year as a volunteer mentor. This is a community-based program and activities should be held in the community..go for a picnic lunch, walk in the park, play board games, etc...Have Fun! CHS invites you to become a positive role model and have fun with a youth. YouthWorks Mentoring offers an awesome opportunity to establish a rewarding friendship with a youth.
