The Mission of Children's Specialized Hospital is to be a center of excellence for infants, children, and young adults with emphasis on their rehabilitative/habilitative needs.

In fulfilling our mission, we will:

• Put the needs of the child and family at the center of all activities;
• Provide a comprehensive range of medical, nursing, therapeutic, clinical, educational and other services to optimize the lives of children and promote healthy lifestyles and safety;
• As a member of the Robert Wood Johnson Health Care Corporation, work closely with them to enhance pediatric healthcare in New Jersey and beyond, and provide high quality, comprehensive and cost-effective services to children;
• As a teaching hospital of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (UMDNJ-RWJMS), work closely with them and other affiliated medical schools to conduct educational and research projects to improve the health and care of children and to ensure that, as a center of excellence, we are always striving to improve our care;
• Work with local communities, schools and health officials to reach out to children and families with information, services, and advocacy on behalf of children with special needs.
