From the very beginning Christ Community has been committed to ministering to those in need in our community and throughout the world. Through domestic and foreign missions, Christ Community seeks to fulfill our mission to reach the lost, feed the hungry, and make disciples of Jesus Christ.
After Hurricane Floyd, we partnered with the United Methodist conference on sending work teams out east to assist with recovery efforts. We have assisted a Hispanic congregation in Fuquay Varina by collecting food to supply their food closet, and provided financial assistance to help relocate one of their families. Through the Great Leaps program we have continued to reach out to our Hispanic neighbors by tutoring children at Cooper Elementary School in English as a second language.
Christ Community has also ministered to those around the world by collecting blankets for the poor in Afghanistan, and by helping to sponsor two work teams to Argentina. While in Argentina, these teams worked in a poor neighborhood known as San Miguel. They renovated an old building now being used as a fellowship hall. The gospel was shared with the children and adults of Argentina through a Spanish puppet ministry.
As Christ Community continues to grow, we look forward to where God will lead us, and what opportunities He will provide for us to minister to those in need, whether here in North Carolina, or in other parts of the world.
Our Mission Statement: People transformed by Christ to reach the lost, feed the hungry, and make disciples.
