The City of Corning, California (pop 7220), was incorporated in 1907 and provides a full range of municipal services including Police, Fire, Parks and Recreation, Library, Public Works and Municipal Airport. Located just 25 miles northwest of Chico and 17 miles south of Red Bluff, Corning is perhaps best known for its award-winning olive products and Travelers' Landmarks like the "Olive Pit".

Agriculture plays an important role in our rural community. We are home to the Lindsey Olive Company & Bell Carter Foods; also important is Sunsweet Dried Plums (Prunes), Almonds, Walnuts and Peaches and cattle and sheep ranching. Calio Groves fine Olive Oil Products are produced in Corning.
