For our residents the City is a small town with many of the big town amenities. Our two elementary schools offer great educational opportunities for our young families.
While maintaining safety and order within our community our Police, Fire, & Ambulance members are active in the community with a variety of educational activities aimed at keeping our residents safe and secure.
Our biggest asset is Silver Lake itself; nestled on the south side of the City the Lake is home to numerous waterfowl and birds. Used by the Department of Natural Resources as a rearing lake the fishing gets pretty active every few years.
Recreational activities abound: from hiking along the Luce Line Trail, relaxing by the soon to be constructed aquatic facility, enjoying some volleyball, basketball, or softball, or even throwing a ringer in the Horseshoe pits.
City have three beautiful parks that provide picnic and playground facilities as well as an Auditorium hall which plays host to numerous events throughout the year, including weddings & receptions to dinner shows & dances.
