About Us:

The Preston Ridge Campus is a traditional college campus with a central quad surrounded by classroom buildings and a grand library. The campus serves over 8,000 students and offers programs and amenities that encourage exploration, collaboration and critical thinking. In addition to a broad selection of general education classes, students can take advantage of unique and award-winning programs at Preston Ridge.

Collin College's Engineering Technology Department was named the 2014 Tech Titan of the Future - University Level by the Metroplex Technology Business Council for its curricula and incentives to perpetuate tech-related knowledge transfer. Through dual credit courses and a seamless degree transfer to UT Dallas, the engineering Technology department is creating pathways to increase the number of engineering graduates.

The award-winning Institute of Hospitality and Culinary Education provides an experiential education for the fast-growing hospitality industry. Students can complete certificates or degrees in hotel/restaurant management, events management, Pastry Arts and Culinary Arts.The pastry arts and culinary arts programs are nationally accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation and utilize three restaurant-quality kitchens for instruction.

The National Convergence Technology Center (CTC) is housed at the Preston Ridge Campus. The CTC was established in 2008 to meet the growing need for employees skilled at integrating technologies. The CTC partners with colleges and universities across the nation to train faculty in emerging technologies and assist in the implementation of high-demand convergence technology degree and certificate programs.

Each semester, Preston Ridge faculty develop learning community courses where professors team teach and connect the concepts of their disciplines under a common theme or question. Students receive credit for each class as if taking traditional classes thus transfer and graduation credits are met. A learning communities experience provides a collaborative learning environment and an opportunity to develop an understanding of the interrelationship of topics and disciplines.
