The Collin County Historical Society & Museum was incorporated as a 501 (C) (3) in 1984. The Society is dedicated to increasing understanding of North Texas history through exhibitions, public programs, online outreach, and research that reveal our collective history. We are the p rimary repository of historical artifacts and documents for Collin County. Our collections and archive provide a foundation for exploration of North Texas history and support the Society's mission to p rovide a basis for debate and examination of issues surrounding the meaning of our local cultural history.

We are located in historic downtown McKinney at 300 E. Virginia St. in a 1911  Post Office Building.
