The Colonial Garden Club of Marlborough was formed in 1959 by five friends to expand their gardening knowledge and share experiences.  Over the years, it has grown to about 50 members.  We have everyone from a few very knowledgeable garden experts to the majority who are constantly learning more about gardening.

But it's not white gloves, long flowing dresses and garden tea parties for us!.  Instead, we wear gardening gloves (sometimes!), knee pads (sometimes!) and clothes we don't mind getting dirty.  We're not afraid to get our hands dirty and can't resist pulling weeds whenever and wherever we see them.

The club is very community focused,  We enhance Marlborough's beauty with many gardens around the town that include Whitcomb Middle School, Women’s Veterans Park, Assabet River Trail, the circle  garden behind City Hall and signature plantings at all the entrances to the city.

Our civic activities include craft workshops at the Senior Center as part of our Senior Therapy program.  The Seniors that attend these events benefit not only from the crafts they create but from a fun filled social event.  We also participate in local seasonal events, such as the Farmer's Market and Harvest Festival. 

We raise funds at our annual plant sale in May and a holiday boutique in December.  The proceeds of theses events, in addition to any donations we receive, support community beautification, garden awards and a scholarship program.
