"Making our communities stronger by restoring hope and improving lives."
Our communities are experiencing true poverty. The average family of four in the greater Harriman, Tennessee area (Anderson, Morgan, Roane and Cumberland Counties) are living $3,000 below the Tennessee poverty level. That means children are going to bed hungry, the homeless have no shelter, there is a lack of adequete clothing and few educational and training opportunities to improve conditions. Our communities are in crisis and are slowly becoming drained of hope. Children and their families are struggeling to meet their basic daily needs. What will they do?
COMMUNITY STRONG is a non profit program that gathers a group of local and compassionate volunteers with partners around our shared mission. We seek to see our communities transformed for a better future by providing free food, clothing, shelter and education to those in need. Hope is being restored, life is being improved.
Two locations in Roane County are currently providing a free hot lunch each Thursday, along with free clothing, and free groceries once a month. To learn more about Community Strong, visit us at http://www.cstrong.org/.
