About Us:
("CCMS") was founded by Boston Symphony Orchestra violinist Wendy Putnam in January of 2000. CCMS presents a series of five chamber music concerts per year in Concord, MA and administers a diversified educational outreach program. The concerts and educational outreach regularly involve the Concord Chamber Players, who are the CCMS resident musicians. These accomplished artists include Boston Symphony Orchestra musicians, members of acclaimed chamber ensembles, and faculty members of musical institutions including the Juilliard School and the New England Conservatory. CCMS also presents guest artists including renowned chamber ensembles such as the Julliard String Quartet, the Lyric Piano Quartet, the Muir Quartet and world-class artists including Grammy Award- winning violinist Gil Shaham, pianist Yefim Bronfman and pianist Peter Serkin. CCMS seeks to enhance the cultural life of Concord by presenting affordable concerts featuring artists and programs of the highest caliber and by implementing dedicated educational outreach initiatives.
The Concord Chamber Music Society's educational outreach program brings musical performances to individuals who wouldn't ordinarily have the opportunity to attend a CCMS concert. Comprised of school performances and workshops and public masterclasses for local music students, the program fosters an awareness and appreciation of chamber music in children and music students.
