Our Mission
The mission of the connecticut Women's Hall of Fame is to honor publicly the achievements of Connecticut women, preserve their stories, educate the public, and inspire the continued achievement women and girls.
The Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame, a non-profit organization, was inaugurated in Hartford in 1994. For the first time in 300 years of state history, the collective achievements of Connecticut women, past and present, were publicly celebrated. The Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame showcases the contributions Connecticut women-well known and less famous-have made to their communities, the state and the nation.
Innovative thematic exhibits which probe the lives of women in particular fields and periods of history;
Learning programs for students of all ages, including curriculum guides and study materials, special tours and teacher workshops;
The Connecticut Women's Heritage Trail, a constellation of museums and historic sites around the state committed to the interpretation of women's history and culture;
The Hall of Fame's Speaker's Bureau, offering programs to schools, civic groups and community organizations;
Scholars' Conferences on a wide range of topics;
Gala Event honoring the achievements of Connecticut women
