Colorado State University Extension in Jefferson County offers a 4-H Mentoring After-School Program at Parr Elementary, 5800 West 84th Avenue in Arvada, Thursdays, 3:15-4:15 p.m. This club helps students in need develop life skills such as self-esteem,
problem-solving, cooperation and teamwork. We hope you are interested
in becoming a part of this impactful program!
You will have the chance to teach and guide one to four students each week with activities and projects that focus on topics such as: sport-fishing, photography, robotics, knitting, sewing, cake decorating, teambuilding activities, healthy living, leadership, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) endeavors, and more.
Mentors only need one hour per week to meet with a small group of youth ages 8-13. The students will be able to select from the variety of 4-H program offerings for completion at the Jefferson County Fair next year.
Volunteer mentors must be at least 19 years of age and will be subject to a background check and interview.
