Cypress Creek Cafe was established in the fall of 1981 by Bruce and Dave Calkins. Now in its third decade, CCC has become a bona-fide tradition in the Texas Hill Country; synonymous with great food and atmosphere, friendly service, and live music second to none.
A dedication to quality with a strong emphasis on healthy ingredients has produced a wide variety of menu items both tasty and yet "kind to the heart". The veteran kitchen staff prepares breakfast, lunch, and dinner from "scratch", always using vegetarian seasonings when possible. In addition to a wide choice of vegetarian items, the varied menu also features choice steaks, chicken dishes, fresh fish, and one of the best chicken fried steaks around. Don't forget to try the famous (& huge) black bean soft taco (vegetarian or w/beef or chicken). There are also several tasty sandwich choices, including a big fat classic hamburger.
For the "cafe" crowd, the coffee bar offers premium coffees (including espresso/cappuccino, "the real thing"), teas, & hot cocoa; along with a delicious assortment of items such as: homemade cakes, pies, bread pudding and cheesecake.
Because of his uncompromising dedications to quality, Bruce has established one of Texas' premier live music venues. Having had several national recording artists "hone" their musical skills in the club at CCC, each and every weekend is a preview of possible future stars; from rhythm & blues and jazz to folk & country music, the consistent level of quality musicians is not to be matched anywhere!
