DAR - Daughters of the American Revolution Van Rensselaer Chapter


The Van Rensselaer Chapter, NSDAR, located in Troy, NY was organized band confirmed by the National Board of Management at its meetings on Saturday, October 4, 2003. With a membership of twelve, the chapter was organized as Chapter 1-198-NY in District III. On October 11, 2003 - The 113th Anniversary of the founding of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter Officers were sworn in as part of a special ceremony at the Capital District Round Table for Districts III and IV at Laser Hall, home of the Schoharie Chapter, NSDAR in Schoharie, NY, Host of the Round Table.

The Van Rensselaer name was taken from Stephen Van Rensselaer, last of the Dutch patroons, who founded Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy.
