Mission Statement:
In partnership with parents, community and students the mission of the Dickson County School District is for students to master state and national education standards and to achieve their personal best socially, physically and emotionally.
Vision Statement:
-The following constitutes the vision of the stakeholders of Dickson County Schools.
-By the end of third grade, all students will meet or exceed state grade level expectations in reading.
-All students will receive quality, research based, data driven instruction.
-All students will successfully complete their program of studies.
-All students will be on grade level and remain in school until graduation.
-All students will graduate from the school district with the technological skills to compete successfully in the workplace or later in higher education.,
-All students will graduate with the knowledge and skills that will allow them to exercise their civic rights, attain a high standard of living, interact effectively with others in society and compete in a culturally diverse global society.
Beliefs:
-Education is the key to progress.
-Success is possible when those responsible for education communicate clear expectations that each student can learn.
-All children, no matter their place of residence, race, religion or family income, are entitled to a quality education in a safe learning environment.
-All students should be taught a challenging, standards-based curriculum and be exposed to high expectations.
-Responsibility for education is shared by students, family, teachers, administrators and community, on going communication between these stakeholders is essential to build more effective schools.
-Learning is a lifelong process.
-Good role models are important to the development of our children.
-All people have intrinsic worth and untapped learning potential.
