Founded in 1879, and originally knows as Dominican Sisters of the Sick Poor, DSFHS is a community-based, non profit Medicare certified home health care agency serving Westchester, the South Bronx and Suffolk county residents of all ages, their familes and caregivers.  DSFHS provides skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology, home health aides services, medical social work, pastoral care and non medical support programs. 

Certified Home Health Agency provides care and support to those with home health care nees for a limited duration.

Long Term Home Health Care Program operates under a specific Feeral medicaid waiver and is known as "Nursing Home Without Walls."  Care and support services are provided to disabled and chronically ill who are Medicaid eligible for admission to a nursing home but choose to be maintainted at home.  Programs are budgeted at 75% of the cost of a nursing home. 

AIDS Home Care Program programs are similar to those listed above; however, there is no cap on services or the number of persons served. 

Pastoral Care is an integral compoenent to the AGency, mission and philosophy and is available in all programs. 

Family Home Health Care, is a licensed affilate agency which specializes in private duty care.  A full range of services from skilled to paraprofessional.
