The mission of Eastlake Middle School is to meet the unique needs of young adolescents during the period of transition from elementary to high school through an educational environment that emphasizes these aspects:

the development of intellectual potential and a respect for life long learning;

Goals of the Eastlake Middle School
1. To further develop individual competency in reading, language arts,
mathematics, science and social studies.

2. To provide enrichment opportunities in the areas of art, music (vocal and
instrumental), industrial arts and home arts.

3. To provide individualized experience in computer usage.

4. To provide individual assistance to students with special educational needs.

5. To provide meaningful library-use instruction and experiences.

6. To provide career education experiences.

7. To provide interscholastic and intramural athletic programs which develop a
wholesome spirit of competition, build on individual ability, and serve to
enhance self-esteem.

8. To encourage involvement in school activities and organizations which
promote a sense of responsibility and pride in both school and community.

9. To provide students with clearly-defined behavioral expectations of teachers
and the school, which will guide them in developing self-discipline.
