About the School District:
The Ellsworth Community School District serves many flourishing communities in Pierce County and its 250 square miles makes it, geographically, one of the largest school districts in Wisconsin . We are primarily rural, but also have the benefit of being commuting distance to the Minneapolis/Saint Paul Twin City metropolitan area. The District’s countryside features a landscape of rolling farm land, crystal clear trout streams, and majestic groves of hardwoods, and includes twenty miles of frontage on beautiful Lake Pepin and the Mississippi River. The District serves the children, families and 12,000 residents of many communities including: Villages of Ellsworth, Bay City, Maiden Rock, the Community of Hager City, and all or parts of twelve townships including: Diamond Bluff, Ellsworth, El Paso, Gilman, Hartland, Isabelle, Maiden Rock, Oak Grove, River Falls, Salem, Trenton and Trimbelle.
The 1:14 teacher/student ratio speaks for itself as the Ellsworth Community School District boasts of a high school graduation rate that is among the highest in the state, and students who continually score well on the Wisconsin exams in Math, Science, Reading, Language Arts, and Social Studies.
We are within a fifteen minute drive to post secondary educational opportunities for both University and Vocational Education and many of our graduates continue their education in this region.
Mission:
The Ellsworth Community School District is committed to providing a quality education for all students and is dedicated to teaching children how to learn, enabling each student an equal opportunity to achieve his/her potential as a life long learner. The school district will encourage the development of critical thinking, individualization, social skills, physical fitness, aesthetic appreciation and creativity while meeting the demands of a changing world by adopting and applying new knowledge and technology in the improvement of education while the student citizens become productive members of the world
