Elmhurst School takes pride in the uniqueness of the quality and diversity of educational programs and activities offered to all students. Our campus serves students with severe learning impairments and provides numerous opportunities for integration with regular education studentsfor social, emotional, and academic growth. The dedicated and talented staff provides an array of skills and talents that meet the needs of our school community. Our staff members serve on district committees, supervise new teachers from accredited universities and participate in professional growth and development activities.

The mission of Elmhurst School is to make a positive impact on the academic, social and emotional development of our students. The staff strives to provide a rich environment that nurtures each child to develop to his/her fullest potential. The staff and parents facilitate student success by providing opportunities for students to become self-directed learners, creative thinkers, effective communicators and collaborative workers in order to make meaningful contributions to our world.

In addition to providing a safe and orderly learning environment, the staff and PTA are proud of the following programs and special activities which encourage student involvement and recognition: a school wide music program, monthly student awards for academic achievement, character trait education, peer-tutoring and cultural arts assemblies.
