About Us

We are working at making school campus more secure. You may have noticed the new fence and gate near the parking lot, Kindergarten and Room 1 walkway. The gate will be locked during school hours and all visitors and those picking up preschool or school age students will be required to use the main office entry. Multiple monitoring cameras are located throughout the campus. Emergency and drill procedures are continually updated and practiced.

All of these (and many more) safety elements work well, but they do have limited capacity as we found out last week. Our main office was broken into through the roof ventilation system. Although nothing was taken or disturbed, it does cause a great deal of consternation and irritation. We need our neighbors and community members to vigilantly watch the campus and report any unusual activity immediately.

They are, also, working at making our campus more visually pleasing and stimulating. Make sure you take a peek at the new concrete patios laid in the outdoor garden area behind Classrooms 6, 7 and 8 (as well as preschool). We will be purchasing table/bench sets for students to use and to establish a “park-like” atmosphere.

Hygiene and cleanliness issues have a renewed focus as we come closer to the winter months. Students will be required to wipe their shoes before entering any indoor space to avoid bringing contaminants (such as bird feces or garbage remnants) into these spaces. Additionally, we continuously remind students about appropriate personal hygiene such as using tissues with runny noses, sneezing into the crook of the arm and washing hands frequently with soap and water. Germs spread quickly, especially in schools and since pandemic issues continue to be of concern, we want to practice the best of personal hygiene routines.

Safety concerns, campus beautification and personal hygiene are all elements of providing a well-rounded school environment in which the academic success of all students, regardless of need, is the highest priority.
