Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church began in September of 1977 as Washington Free Will Baptist Mission.  The name "Emmanuel", chosen on November 13, 1977 was and is a reflection of the church's sincere desire that "God be with us."  Emmanuel was founded by a group of Bible-believing Christians who sought to establish a church that would reach souls for the glory of God.  Today, Emmanuel is still driven by that original purpose.
