Church History
The vision for the church began soon after the earliest settlers of Englewood began providing educational facilities for their children. The community recognized the need to provide religious training as well. By 1915 ten families formally organized as a congregation. In the summer of 1928 the very first church in Englewood was built. In 1962 the church building on Green Street was completed.
In 1971 forward thinking lay leaders decided to purchase 17 ½ acres at the current site for $38,000. In 1979 the first service was held in the new sanctuary at our current site of 700 East Dearborn. In 1987 the Fellowship Hall and Education Building were completed. In 2003 the Sanctuary complex was renovated and updated.
Current church membership is 2100. The average worship attendance per Sunday is 1053.
