About Us
ECC grew out of a living room Bible study of three people which started in the summer of 1996 in Pembroke Pines, Florida. The three didn’t know a lot about the Bible, but they were eager to grow spiritually. As their relationship to Christ developed, one thing led to another and by September of 1996, 18 people gathered for Sunday morning worship in Win Green’s home. By October, the number grew to 30 and so it was decided to rent space in the cafeteria at Silver Palms Elementary School. Our first worship service there welcomed 80 people and by the summer of 1998, we were again in need of larger quarters so we moved to the Silver Trail Middle School auditorium. There the growth is approaching 350. Since 1996, many people’s lives have been changed as they’ve committed themselves to Christ. Marriages have been restored, addictions conquered, careers discovered, children nurtured, and peace with God experienced.
The average age of our church is 34 years. Most of us are married with young children. Many of us were born outside of the country. We love our jobs, are busy raising our families, and have a heart for serving our local community. Because few of us have any immediate family nearby, ECC has become for us our extended family. We love it.
