The Fairbanks Fiber Festival is an annual public event celebrating all types of Alaskan fiber art! The Festival includes workshops, free hands-on demos, vendor marketplace with local fiber artists and farmers, educational booths, a fiber tools & equipment sale, and more.
Many local animal fibers are featured, including: wool, qiviut, alpaca, mohair and angora, as well as other natural fibers like silk, cotton, bamboo, wood, and cane, and synthetic fibers. Goods for purchase include everything from raw animal fiber, hand-dyed yarn, spinning fiber, embroidered artwork, jewelry, home goods, and hand-woven/knit/crocheted/sewn clothing and accessories, to looms, spinning wheels, spindles, and other tools used to create fiber art.
