The foundation of our belief is that Jesus Christ, true God and true Man, came to this world two millennia ago to suffer and die on the cross for the sins of the world.  His resurrection from the grave on Easter demonstrated that His work was victorious and accepted by the heavenly Father.  Jesus has paid the penalty for all our sins, not some of our sins.  This gives us the joyful and free opportunity to live for God out of thanks and love, not insecure as to whether we will be with Him in eternity. 

This foundation belief, as well as our congregation’s name, is highlighted in a famous Bible passage from Ephesians 2:  By grace you have been saved through FAITH – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not of works, so that no one can boast.

By means of our association with the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (in fellowship with WELS - Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod), we also support the preaching of God’s Word to the world.  We support our synodical seminary in Mankato, Minnesota, as well as our synod’s mission work in Chile, Peru, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.  We further support our synod’s four year liberal arts college in Mankato, Bethany Lutheran College.
