About
The Farmington Valley Chorale is an ensemble comprised of eighty or more singers from the Farmington Valley and surrounding areas in North Central Connecticut. We are a group that embraces the classical choral repertoire, frequently hiring a professional orchestra with leading soloists for our performances of master works.
We first formed during the Simsbury tercentennial year of 1970, doing our part to commemorate the founding of that community. The effort was so successful that we have continued into the present - ordinary people coming together to accomplish the extraordinary through the beauty and power of choral music.
Our singers rehearse weekly and contribute their time and energy in countless ways so that our organization runs efficiently, our concerts are successful and gratifying, and our atmosphere is welcoming. We encourage new members to join us at the beginning of a season (September) or at mid-season (January). There is no audition to join; previous choral singing is encouraged but not required.
