Fauquier Habitat for Humanity, a locally-run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, serves Fauquier and Rappahannock counties in the beautiful Piedmont of northern Virginia.

Since 1991, we've worked in partnership with community churches, businesses, volunteers and families to eliminate the blight of poverty housing: leaky roofs, no indoor plumbing, kitchen or bath facilities, no source of heat, and other unsafe or unsanitary conditions.

Fauquier Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with the community and people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing.

Habitat isn't a "handout". We don't "give" homes away. Our dedicated volunteers contribute their labor, reducing the cost to build. National sponsors and local businesses provide generous support, as well. Our partner families invest hundreds of hours of labor - 'sweat equity' - into building their homes and the homes of others. Fauquier Habitat sells the homes to them at cost, with no profit or interest, to keep the mortgages affordable. Then, homeowner mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.
