History:

First Baptist Church has a rich legacy of faith that has been passed down to us. It was in faith that fourteen people gathered on September 27, 1858, in a small log home and birthed what would become First Baptist Church. It was faith that challenged the hearts of that small congregation to make several moves before arriving at our present location on March 8, 1914. Again it was faith that stirred the hearts of God’s people to undergo multiple building projects in order to create greater opportunities for ministry. We are so thankful for all of the men and women who possessed such great faith in order to more greatly impact the world around them with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Here at First Baptist Church, although we are excited as we think upon our rich legacy of faith, we are not content to allow this faith to be something of the past. Instead, we continue to walk in this great faith and we desire to pass down an even stronger legacy of faith for the generations that will come after us.
