The First Congregational Church of Silverton is one of the oldest Congregational Churches in the State of Colorado. It was established November 24, 1878 with Harlan Page Roberts and seven members of the community. It has served the valley continuously ever since. The first services were held in the schoolhouse, with parishioners being called to worship by Harlan beating out the call on a saw blade.
