History :
Chester First Free Will Baptist Church was organized on January 15th, 1950. The Church began with a small group of believers that met in the homes of members. A short time later they moved to 222 West Elliott Street where the Church began to grow. In the following years the Church built a new sanctuary, additional classrooms, and a gymnasium.

On June 20th, 1999 First Free Will Baptist moved to 790 Hawthorne Road. The move to Hawthorne Road had been a vision of our members for many years. The West Elliott Street location did not allow room for expansion. However, with over 40 acres on Hawthorne Road the Church now has enough space to grow.

Today Chester First Free Will Baptist Church has a new 550 seat sanctuary, 11 classrooms, choir room, and offices. In addition the Church recently completed our Christian Life Center which has a gymnasium, full service kitchen, dining hall, and 8 additional classrooms which are used for Hawthorne Christian Academy, our K3-12th grade Christian school.
