About Us
First Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Southeastern Minnesota Synod, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Swedish immigrants who came to settle and farm the rich soil of the Minnesota River Valley organized the congregation in January of 1883.
In the almost 120 years of the congregation's existence it has grown from a very small and struggling people of God to one that is vibrant and strong. First Lutheran is a program size congregation averaging just over 200 per Sunday at worship. Total baptized membership is 720. There are currently 143 children and youth ages 3 through high school.
