Mission Treasurer Leon Collier has to date sent out a fine sum for Mission and Benevolence. More will be distributed before the end of the year. It includes Shared Presbyterian Mission which supports the basic mission work of the Church at home and abroad. Also, money has gone to four Extra Commitment projects our church selected. Additionally, money went to:
the Forest Hills Volunteer Ambulance corps;
La Vida International in Jamaica, Queens for work with children;
the Alberta L. Alston House social services program in Corona (the Pastor is on the board of this Presbyterian home);
the Queens Federation of Churches, and to the Federation's food program; and
SEED, the innovative anti-poverty program started by Mindy Lackey and Carlos Monteagudo.
