Mission:
To promote through education, stewardship, conservation, management, and use of Maryland's forest resources, both urban and rural.
About Us:
Maryland's Forest Conservancy District Boards were established in 1943. For more than fifty years these Boards have been working to perpetuate Maryland's forest resource. As volunteer advocates for forestry they focused their attention on Maryland's trees and forests. The Maryland Forestry Boards Foundation is a non-profit corporation that fund educational activities which promote wise stewardship of our natural resources, teaching about forests and the renewable resources they provide.
The Baltimore County Forestry Board is one of 24 Forestry Boards, throughout Maryland, in partnership with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Forest Service. These Boards also provide leadership for improvement of the environment in urban, suburban and rural areas, and educate people about the variety of benefits that trees and forests provide. The Baltimore County Forestry Board initiated, "Greening of Your Town", which provides assistance to local communities in establishing and caring for street trees. This program has provided hundreds of trees to be planted in various communities of Baltimore County.
