Our Mission is to honor the dignity of life by serving as a compassionate community.
Recognizing the need for a quality health care facility for northwest Indiana's elderly, the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago purchased a sturdy old farmhouse in Crown Point in 1939. After a few months of cleaning, they opened their doors and St. Anthony Home rapidly filled to its capacity of 19 residents.
As time passed, it became evident there was a desperate need for additional and modern facilities. As a result, the decision to erect a new building was made. It became reality in April 1966, when a three-story complex opened with accommodations for 133 residents. Growth continued in 1977 with the opening of a new wing, raising capacity to more than 200 residents.
