The Franklin County Board of Health has as its mission the promotion, regulation, and procedural procurement of public safety and health. It is our belief that all citizens within our jurisdiction, regardless of race, sex, or economic, mental, or logistical abilities, are entitled to competent health services.
To effectively meet the health care needs of our citizens, the Franklin County Board of Health as endorsed the following:
monitor health status to identify community problems
diagnose and investigate health problems and health hazards in the community
inform, educate, and empower people about health issues
mobilize community partnerships and take action to solve problems
develop policies and plans that support individual and community health efforts
enforce laws and regulations that protect health and ensure safety
link people to needed personal health services and assure the provision of health care when otherwise unavailable
assure an expert public health work force
evaluate effectiveness, accessibility and quality of health services
research for new insights and innovate solutions to health problems
