Frey Elementary is located 15 miles west of Columbus in the village of West Jefferson. Frey serves students in grades 3-5, with an average enrollment of 90-100 students per grade level. The average class size is 20-24 students. A comprehensive academic program is offered for all students and extensive services for special education are available in an inclusive setting. Some students have a traditional classroom with one teacher, while others have a team of two teachers. Grade 5 students have the opportunity to compete in county-wide competitions in the area of math and spelling.There are 24 certified educators, 4 support staff, and 1 administrator at Frey Elementary.

Frey Elementary’s original construction took place in 1952, as an addition to Memorial Middle School, serving grades 3-6. Additional classrooms were added in the early 60’s and a multi-purpose facility was added in the late 60’s. Currently, plans are underway for new construction at 899 Norwood Drive, which will then become a Pre-K – 5 facility.
